This week on the Ignite Intimacy podcast, my sistar Sarah and I get filled in on all the juicy details of Andrea Barrica’s passion for reproductive justice and the birth of her online shame-free platform for pleasure education, O.School.

Accepting the fluidity of sexuality from an early age, but pushing it aside to focus on her education, Andrea’s path has now brought her to create O.School and look into the future of sex and sex education.

O.School is a judgement free online space to choose your own sex education adventure, with a diverse group of instructors leading courses ranging from communication and consent, to raising sex positive kids, to introduction to kink and fetish. Regardless of physical, cultural, locational, or educational differences, live streaming and live chat provide everyone with an inclusive, safe, and supportive community in which to unlearn shame and live in the desire the way it works for them.

About Andrea:

Andrea Barrica is no stranger to business ventures. After co-founding an accounting and tax platform at a very early age, she went on to have a hand in one of the world’s most active global seed funds. Now she combines her technological savvy and  “Empathy Warrior” vision to help those who have not yet been lucky enough to embrace their sexuality learn how to open themselves to their own power.

Sweet and pungent,
she deliberates,
parting the exquisite flesh
as juices moisten her fingers.

(from ‘Mango’)

In this episode of Ignite Intimacy, Deleonora Abel shares with us her gorgeous and erotic poetry. Not only are her words tantalizing, so is her voice and the way the words come forth from her being.

She is a force, both powerful and soft, divine and adventurous.

Enjoy a new twist for this episode of Ignite Intimacy, Sensual Poetry with Deleonora Abel!

Sychronized, their
auras collide and
two become
one.

(from ‘La Petite Mort’)

About Deleonora:

An inspired and imaginative soul, raised being told that creativity should only be a hobby, Australian poet, novelist, and screenwriter Deleonora Abel has only now fully embraced her talent for writing.

Using poetry and writing as a sanctuary during her experiences putting herself through college as a single mother, and taking care of her cancer-stricken mother for the last months of her life, she paints a picture in your mind of every woman’s journey from girlhood to motherhood.

Using a style known as écriture féminine in her work, whose purpose is to return women to writing and express repressed sexual pleasure, Deleonora’s writing is influenced by mythology, occult imagery, and the natural world.

Can religion and sexuality coexist in a harmonious and healthy way? Definitely, according to Bob LaVallee, and he thinks the place to start is the fundamental idea that sex is GOOD!

Bob and I talk about keeping the shame and guilt out, and the holy and sacred in sex through lifelong education, acceptance, and changing our perceptions about this previously taboo subject. We also touch on the concept of toxic masculinity and how society’s expectations are keeping us from truly being ourselves. Experience the freedom that comes with finding a sweet balance on podcast Episode 30 of Ignite Intimacy, Religion and Sex with Bob LaVallee!

About Bob LaVallee:

Buffalo NY yoga teacher and self-described “Jesus-inspired humanist“, Bob LaVallee is a candidate for the Universalist ministry. A Marine Corps veteran, he can also be found working as a chaplain in a hospital cardiac unit.

Bob is a certified facilitator of the Our Whole Lives (OWL) adult sexuality curriculum, a program that has seen many people who have suffered sexual loss experience a resurrection in their faith in God and sexuality. For more information about this program please visit:
